Lata Mangeshkar and Javed Aktar do not want MS Dhoni to retire

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most successful players the Indian cricket team has ever had. Owing to his great track record not just as captain but as a batsmen and wicket keeper, Dhoni continues to be the most wanted played even at 37. After his great knock in the World Cup 2019 semi final, the internet was buzzing with messages about his retirement, saying that this was a good way to bid farewell to the world cup series.

While Dhoni himself hasn’t commented about his retirement, people have been sending him messages ever since the last match. Firstly, Lata Mangeshkar took to twitter to request Dhoni in the sweetest message to not retire. She said, “Namaskar M S Dhoni ji.Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain.Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye.Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laaiye.”

Following this adorable request, Javed Akhtar too posted about Dhoni and said, “As a middle order batsman or a WK  M S Dhoni is a totally dependable n trustworthy.  Virat  is graceful enough to accept that Dhoni’s understanding of game is an advantage for the team .One can see that a lot of cricket is still left in Him. Why even talk about his retirement.”

While it is nobody’s decision, we sure do agree with everyone who does not want Dhoni to retire anytime soon.
