Badhaai Ho Ayushmann Khurrana starrer to have a sequel

Truly one of the biggest hits of 2018, Junglee Pictures’ Badhaai Ho won big at the 66th National Awards. The film starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri in important roles. The film was announced as the “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment” at the National Awards along with Surekha Sikri bagging the award for Best Supporting Actor (Female).

On the big win, film’s producer Vineet Jain had said in an official statement, “Junglee Pictures has always believed in telling impactful stories in the most engaging manner. This recognition in the form of a National Award is truly gratifying. I am proud of the team for putting together such a delightful yet meaningful film.”

Adding to all the joy, we now hear that makers of the film are planning on making a sequel to the film. The film will reportedly be titled Badhaai Ho 2 and just like the original, this one will be a wholesome entertainer which will focus on an important subject. Commenting on that, a source close to the project informed a leading daily, “The script has been locked, and the makers are close to locking the cast.”

The source further informs that the sequel will have not have one but two young couples and will go on floors early next year. Hilariously, the second part will have Ayushmann’s character Nakul discover that his mother has become pregnant the third time.

Keeping in mind film’s super success at the box-office, Badhaai Ho is also being made in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
